According to the Illinois Institute of Technology, in 1997 99% of young girls in the U.S. owned at least one Barbie Doll. But now that number is shrinking. So, is the end near for this anatomically-impossible cultural icon? **Update May 20, 2014:

A superhero is clearly a work of fiction, even an 8 year old boy understands this. Barbie however is portrayed as the perfect woman and perfect housewife. Batman is based on his values (good over evil and all that crap). Barbie is based on a 1950s image of women. You can become Batman by being a good person, but you can only become Barbie by having an abnormal body and cleaning the house of your man. That's why it's so messed up.

Girls are too busy playing with their now affordable motorized (or should I say "vibrating") toothbrushes. An electric toothbrush used to cost 200 dollars, now you can buy what is essentially a vibrator in the shape of a toothbrush for 20 bucks. Do a rocketboom episode about THAT.
