Great pedals! Gladio is a well made, well designed pedal. I think any player will be happy with it looking for the D*style vibe. We also make a pretty rad D*style pedal. I recommend trying them both and figuring out which of the two you bond with. Thanks Buddy for doing this comparison, I know many people were asking for a baseline on these :)

Both produce some very tasty tones, I think I like the gladio sound a touch more but love the simplicity of the Ultra.

The Ultraphonix gets my vote, tho the Gladio does sound really good, especially in the hands of Buddy Blues. Great video, loved both, but the UP by a hair

Yeah. Gladio! Tone for me. Almost a not fair comparison as the versatility of the gladio has way more tonal options over the Vertex. but I will say this the vertex had some sweet tones also! Also add to it we are listening to 3 different dumble replicated tones based off 3 different amps I believe. So it's what tone you like to your taste. 👍

I love the sound of both pedals. I'd have to say that the Cornerstone GLADIO has the edge, as it has more options. The Vertex ULTRAPHONIX MKII displays tones that are undeniably great! That fact can not be argued. To my ears, the Cornerstone GLADIO was more dynamic, but barely won this shootout! With that being said, I can't imaging being unhappy with either pedal!

I had the Gladio, got rid of it for the UP. Both are great. I just want simple. I am starting to despise busy pedals, no matter how good. I guess I am a crabby guitarist.

I have the original Ultra because I saw Buddy demo one. It wasn’t just the sound, it was the simplicity. I have my amp set with heavy mids anyway, so the simpler the pedal the better for me. I also rely heavily on the to e controls of the guitar which means i don’t have to worry about too many knobs on a pedal. The Gladio is just a lot of knobs.

Great comparison! I have an earlier Ultraphonix and love it. I also use the Dualist and Protein the most. I considered the Gladio but just too expensive, went over the line for me of cost.
