Mujhe lagta hai current Air Chief ka vision ek dum clear hai. Media should also stop their speculations.

Not only Rafael most of the European difence equipment is costlier than it's counter parts. I think low production rate is one of the main reason.

Yesterday, they American weapons lobby funded Indian Digital Media Organisation did a video on the declining strength of Indian Airforce.
Now you understand why almost ALL weapons are sold at inflated prices. Dalal ki list lambi renting hai yahan, from Media to Bureaucrats, Military officials to Politicians.

Price per jet exceeding US 200 million dollars is extremely costly. We need indigenous jets like LCA Mk 1 A, LCA MK 2 which can be upgraded continuously in India and are cost effective.

My only concern is our biggest opponent China.
1. They have their best aircraft J20 in air and our on paper (AMCA)
2. Their 2nd best Su35 (24 count) on air and fortunately we have Rafale on air (36 count)
3. Their 3rd best J16 on air and our Su30 (super sukhoi) on paper
4. Their 4th best J10 on air and our Tejas MK1 stuck on production line

Indian airforce squadron strength at its lowest since 1965 and alpha defence still protect our babus and air force and blame foreign lobby.

Kaveri and the AMCA programmes are so critical that they should be moved under the PMO, just like ISRO and the best talents should be included in these projects

How would buying 126 Rafales (in 2015) have been worse than buying 36 Rafales? We wouldn't have the extreme aircraft shortage we currently have. India specific enhancements could have been incorporated into that original deal as well. Plus, 108 of the aircraft would have been made in India, which would have helped our manufacturing sector improve. Regarding MRFA: in the recent press conference it has been clearly stated that IAF wants the MRFA "yesterday". Can't be any clearer than that. IAF wants MRFA ASAP, Govt hasn't given AoN in 3 years.

Moral of the story 1st we need to develop our jet engine that’s all

We need to focus a lot of money, effort and time to develop the Kaveri Engine. That’s the topmost priority for India.
I have been saying for years that Tejas needs to have a twin engine variant.
Tejas with twin engine Kaveri is the base platform on which India can develop a formidable Airforce.

Govt has blocked kaveri engine funding then how you expect indigenous aircrafts to come out. Without engine we cant do anything. Just see how Tejas project is being strangled for engine by USA. Problem is that we want top of the line products from indigenous sourced but dont want to invest in R&D. We expect that some country will give us the technology easily which the have developed at the cost of billions dollars. It is need of thr hour to fund R&D projects heavily to get out of blackmailing situation. Distributing free grains, giving freebies will not save the country from enemies.

Iaf is pushing for rafale and GoI isn't ready to invest 25+bn $ on a single project as we need money to fund other programs as well. The previous air chief wasn't interested in indigenous platforms which delayed crucial projects.
We will face delays in f404 untill Us elections are over.
36 additional rafale lekar mrfa ko khatam karo

Tejas Mk2 will be a smaller fighter compared to Rafale, but it will provide significant technical advancements over the high-priced Rafale. It makes perfect sense if the IAF scraps MRFA altogether and increases the size of the Tejas Mk2 fleet.

Import lobby penetrated so deep in media. Top AFs procure goes in 2 diff track - affordable defense items huge quantity & top notch items for deep strike/specialists. U can't buy 50+ rafale at this cost and rafale f4 can't even match J20 in 2030s. Procurement take long time. Ind is suffering last 20yrs confusion how to counter china. BVR mostly with missiles(already self-reliant) & radar, not with airframes. Utilise the time and fill gap of force multipliers.

India ko Indian made fighter jets hee use karne chaiye agar technology nhi hai ya thode bohot technology pe dependent hai kisi country pe tho technology pe jyada paisa lagao na ki fighter jet kharid ke technology lao, usse fighter jets pe extra cost pay karna padega oor maintenance bhi mehga padega, isse aacha technology pe paisa lagega thoda jyada lekin long term mein indian fighter jets ke liye benefit oor cost reduction hoga oor foreign fighter pe dependency kam rehege oor kharidne ki jarurat bhi nhi padegi rafale ya koi bhi jets, sab kuch Indian made hee hoga bas technology lao agar koi country nakhre dikha rha hai tho paisa extra deke lalchao lekin fighter jets mat kharido bas technology lao oor indian private players ko include karke indian fighter jets ki production capacity increase Karo that's my opinion
