I have had several plants in water. It's funny, I can over water a plant, but put it in only water and it does fine.

As has already been mentioned, don't drown the crown. Plants do better when only 2/3of their roots are submerged. With the remaining 1/3 above the water line they enjoy the oxygen out of the air, essential for healthy plants. To keep the larger plants from dropping into the water, I make a crisscross around the plants using sellotape. It's clear so it doesn't show, but strong enough to prevent drowning, cheap too. Loving the look of the plant in that beautiful vase. Oddly it will mean that you never'over water's a plant again. But I would change the water at least fortnightly.

Beautiful combination! Be careful that the crown doesn’t sit in the water, or it might start crown rot. Happy planting! 💚

When removing dirt off of plants, better soak them to loosen up the roots than hosing it down

Only the roots should be submerged. I love Peace Lilies, I have 2 myself. Hope it takes for you 🙏

We used a big ginger jar. Cleaned peace lily's roots, then bought a clear plastic water saucer cut an X in the center. Work roots trough there. Set on mouth of clear ginger jar. Dump few marbles in bottom of ginger jar. Then we put a Betta fish in the water. Then put plant with saucer on top of ginger jar balanced on outer edges. Was alot of fun!!!

Do this when the soil is dry, that way it all just clumps and crumbles off with ease without it fighting to cling onto the roots!

Ohhhh only the roots should be submerge in water- u can place white stones to support the plant in place.😂

When mine grew too big and I trimmed it down, I just put the trimmings in water and all of them shot out very nice and dense roots. They've been flourishing in water for more than four years now, over the kitchen counter and far from direct sunlight. I just top up the water, never do a full change. I have given it a pinch (literally) of ammonium nitrate and phosphate once a year, which perhaps I can do totally without.

The roots can be trimmed as they’ll need to convert to roots for water - you may notice they’ll rot away and new ones will grow out from where they were. I’ve transitioned a few with no problem at all, they lived happily in the top of fish tanks long term.

The level of water should be below the crown of plant.

Yes I did try it, it didn't do very good, even had gold fish swimming around it hoping they would fertilize it... eventually put it back into soil, had it for years it hasn't changed much or even bloomed.

I have several plants in water. However, I inadvertently created a rod for my own back during summer. We were plagued by mosquitoes. I didn't realize they were laying their eggs and breeding in my plant water! Watch out for that in mosquito season.
