Hello Matthew former landscape gardener here again. We built alot of rock walls using large sandstones rocks weighing roughly 100 to 200kg. Done by hand and it took 2 to 3 of us to move em. We did use basalt to do edging along garden beds. We had to cut the basalt with a wet saw to get straight edges and block shaped stone. Basalt naturally flakes and chips into chunks if you try to shape it with hammer and chisel. Thise basalt blocks have an odd look to them, the one you have your hand on has a seam running down the exposed side. only way you could do that with basalt would be to somehow soften it to be pliable. I did see the comment about grinding basalt to powder and molding blocks. In my opinion that's impossible to do and have the finished product set back into a stone form.

What a time that would be to explore and be inspired in wonder by megaliths, and to be able to share it with someone like minded in history, you cant miss Paul's voice, that would have been an awesome trip.

Its not lost on many of us, given the amazing builds still left for us to see, that we once were far more advanced than we are today.

When they take us with them I feel so amazing I remember going to a few sites it's only an experience you have to be. Being there and seeing it is different

They were made with ground up rock mix and molded in place. That’s how they got such good tolerances.

You should come to the islands of Hawaii! Specifically Oahu!

There’s so many structures right in front of our faces that they go unnoticed!

Is that all sediment from the block you have you hand on upwards?

@ Mathew Exactly what test are you using to determine where about the stones came from? Or to say building blocks? Super curious what you might think in re: stone wall ?

Look at the mud on top, there must be blocks in that mud washed away, needs excervaiting, we need as many tablets as we can get.
