Lucas was fantastic tonight! Absolute rock in defence and far better than our usual centre backs. Gutted about the result but the performance all round was so much better than it has been, Few of these youngsters need to start playing in the league now! Benteke should have had a hat trick but even he looked good for long periods and looked great once we had three up front. Sturridge and Sex pot are back so let's hope we finish the season strongly! YNWA !!

I was disappointed. To loose like that was gutting. But now I've had some time (and more beer) I'm actually feeling okay.

We played really well and if we can field at least two of those three attackers in our coming games, they will begin to gel, confidence will grow and the goals will flow.

One less cup comp to worry about gives us time to focus on the top four (I'll have to put that down to my merry glow)

Roll on the summer to be honest. so much dead wood that needs to be cleared out, players that just arent good enough to play for this club. we need a new keeper, a quality centre back, a bruiser for midfield a winger and a goalscorer.

We need a new goal keeping coach, if we are stuck with migs we need someone capable of training. He's pulled off some great saves this season. It's always the basics that lets him down, really hope acterberg is first out the door in the summer.

They didn't have the luck on the night, it happens, its football, but every man gave it their all last night and I was more than happy with them all (except Ibe who I still think isn't going to make it as a long term Liverpool player), yes even Benteke who was right in the centre of the game as were all the forwards. I know they are now out of a cup competition we all wanted them to do well in, but today I feel happy enough about it as they gave it their all and I'm sure Klopp is delighted by how they performed, and if its good enough for him, its more than good enough for me.

It really hits home how far our standards have slipped when you are telling us that Benteke, despite missing at least 5 clear cut opportunities and being generally shite all season, has a place in this Liverpool team...

ive never seen a striker struggle to score 1v1 as much as i have with benteke. fuck, i could have fucking scored some of the chances hes had.


with sturridge, im actually surprised with how little rust affect him. he comes in first game back and on another night he scores at least 1. hopefully though he stays fit, and can start scroing goals cause fuck knows we need it

Benteke reminded me of Heskey for us tonight, few goals but holds up the ball well for the others and passed well which could have led to good goals on another night
