White coating on the tongue is a normal occurrence. It usually turns white or yellow because of food a beverages. It can be cleaned by brushing. Even after brushing if the yellow coating persists, there could be some kind of an infection or inflammation, where you can help in diagnosing the problem. Red spot on the tongue can occur due to cold sores or viral or bacterial or fungal infection or even because of tobacco use. Proper clinical examination or the past medial history is needed to conclude the proper diagnosis. This red spots and yellow coating is not related to dental decay. There can be some inflammatory response. In any case the dentist will help in identifying the problem and diagnosis.

I have yellow tongue, dry mouth and itchy throat for 10 years.
First dortor gave me oral trush medicatin, then nasal spray and advice me to take plenty fluid. Then they gave me antiboitic .nothing worked for me.i went to dentist as well.I live in uk.
