Yo, Mike and Nelly, thank for leveling up my childhood favorite and put a world class touch on the only food that i ate for 4 years when I was growing up. For i grew up in a junkyard scavenging. For i have no family (casted out) and only earn 40 pesos a day for 4 years before i got adopted. I really appreciate how you both love our simple filipino food. That food that you both cooked had me reminiscing my childhood past right now while I'm writing this comment. God speed and wish you both luck and prosperity and I hope that the longer you choose to live here in the Philippines the more treasures that you'll find. For there's a lot of hidden gems here in my country that you both need to explore and experience. Love you both guys. Ciao! 😊

Champorado is my daily breakfast made by my mom before I go to school way back my younger days and until now when Im on vacation in Ph she made me the way she made it before and I love it so much. Very Nostalgic❤

Just like any other raw ingredients, always wash the rice. Good job nelly 👍

Also the champorado needs a little bit more water, and you have to fry the tuyo. 😃

This is the reason why I started following you guys... cooking Filipino foods. But of course, your travel videos attracted me to your channel. Hoping to see you guys travel again in the near future.

There's a Ube Champorado but I still prefer the chocolate one.

I prefer classic champorado using cocoa powder and/or tablea with coconut milk... Paired with fried tawilis or tuyo. Yummmm.🤤

Mike and Nelly, when we were there last year, my friend introduced to us the crispy tuyo by Ginger. No need to fry. It's tuyo in a bottle with oil but tuyo stays crispy. It's really good. There's a regular and spicy one.

What a sweet idea cooking challenge. I am
Filipino who grew up in California. coconut sugar is a great healthy alternative and there is coconut condensed milk. It’s super good. By the way, malagkit means sticky.
Would love to see a bibinka and halo halo challenge with traditional and modern versions. God bless! Thank you for your vlogs.

Love it with evaporated milk n tuyo.... love the traditional one with plain tablea ...

i like the traditional one paired with buwad or tuyo in Tagalog. when cooking rice porridge, the water that you put should be double than what you usually put in plain rice so it would be more “soupy” or “liquidy”. And you would normally cook it longer so you would have a softer and creamier rice consistency.
