This, to me, is Mari's theme. So simple, yet so upbeat. The beginning serves to calm your nerves after long, traumatizing or tiring journeys, with its simple, light piano steps. The second half then invites you to relax and embrace a happier time, unburdened by the cares or worries of the world. It... almost feels like Mari's asking if she can give you a big hug, to let her tell you that everything will be okay, and that no matter what happens, she'll be by your side... whether that be in person or in spirit.

This piano cover captures that perfectly, with its lighter, airier tones than the original does. Thanks for this; it really is a beautiful piece.

This game really showed me a different perspective on love, death and families in general. As the eldest sibling who, coincidentally, plays piano, it kinda gave some idea of what life for my younger siblings, family and friends might possibly look like if I died. What kind of impact that might leave on them, the trauma and guilt that they'll feel, how something like that could change them. It's kinda scary to think about, and I think about it every time I listen to this or try to play this. It's rare that I find a cover that forces me to acknowledge that. Your channel is truly one of a kind. 💕

Update regarding sheet music ~

I have contacted the original composer of OMORI and have received permission to share the sheet music I make from these arrangements. I hope to finish sheets for By Your Side and the other tracks throughout next week and will update the descriptions with download links (aside from Merry CD, which is licensed through Toby Fox’s music label).

I forget who said this, but this song's use when your putting Basil's photo album back together is absolutely criminal. This song is an instant cry switch for me. It's like OMOCAT looked at me and went "How can I make this person specifically cry?" This game hit so many of my emotional weak points. Honestly I feel like Sunny is a more extreme reflection of myself a few years ago.

I stopped playing the piano 3 years ago after some family members made playing the instrument feel like a burden. This is the one video/music piece that's inspired me to try playing again, thank you :)

You know, there is this effect in horror games and movies where the producer can instantly make the viewer uncomfortable and afraid, like suddenly cutting the background music, make the lighting dark, the only sound you can hear is your footsteps heartbeat or breathing keeping you at the edge of your seat waiting for a jumpscare to come, and when it doesn't come your adrenaline is through the roof and it stays there.
This song has the complete opposite effect and instantly gave me a huge sigh of relief as if everything is going to be fine forever whenever I heard it in game and now irl too.

I thought I couldn’t play this at all. But with practice I’m very proud to say that I’m slowly learning. Two hands seemed impossible but breaking it down to sections, repeating the small sections everyday.
