Honestly I like that the new anime’s that if/when the female lead gets hit on and the male lead protects her, they don’t try and push forward with hitting on her more, they just accept it and move on. I feel like it is becoming more precedent in the newer anime’s and I’m all for it

While a bit weird for surrounding a girl that they perceived was alone, I'm glad that the guys ended up back off and even rooting for Shiraishi. Gotta love how Shiraishi's invisibility actually came in handy for once, as without it, he wouldn't have shocked the boys as much. Speaking of Shiraishi, he is becoming more comfortable with Kubo, which shows a slight amount of character development on his part. He is just such a gentleman in this episode, being very considerate of Kubo's feelings and personal space at the subway train and the coffee shop.

I remember reading the manga volume that has their movie date and thinking it was a real turning point in their relationship. Up until then, Junta was still unsure of whether Nagisa was really interested in getting to know him, or if she just liked teasing him. Throughout this volume, and in the anime episodes, we see him finally accept that Kubo is genuine and that it’s okay to be more open with her. The way he stands up for Kubo is very realistic for his personality as well, while still being a huge leap forward in character development. I was excited to see how they were going to portray this in the anime, and I’m glad to say they did a wonderful job. Junta is slowly but surely becoming the main character in his life, and making progress with Nagisa too. You just love to see it.
