They realized there was not enough evidence at that time. That's a good thing. They want to be absolutely certain there is evidence for a guilty verdict.

I think he thought Suzanne would never been found. It was divine intervention the way she was found.

Police searched extensively for this lady when she went missing. They find her remains years later in a remote sagebrush field in a shallow grave while working another case and positively identify her. While we all wish they would have found her alive and well, the fact that she was found is incredible.

Here's what people need to focus on with this case...other stuff matters but it's just a distraction in terms of figuring out what happened...

- Her cell phone activity stops around 2-3PM on Saturday 5/9, around the time Barry came home.

- She received Snapchats from a friend's wedding that evening & never opened them, texts from daughters wishing her a Happy Mother's Day on Sunday, never read them.

- Barry says to the cops - on video - that Suzanne was asleep in bed & fine on the morning of Sunday 5/10 (this is key).

- We know that Suzanne takes the following items with her on bike rides: bike, helmet, sunglasses, hydration pack, phone

- Her bike & helmet are found away from home on 5/10 but her sunglasses, hydration pack & phone are at home.

Items left at home (plus no cell activity after 5/9 afternoon) mean we can be almost positive that there was never a bike ride on 5/10. Remember, the fateful bike ride has to happen on Sunday because Barry says she was asleep in bed that morning & fine.

So if there was no actual bike ride on 5/10, then the bike evidence away from home was 100% staged. If we're supposed to believe that an outsider took Suzanne from her home on 5/10 after Barry left, would an outsider think to stage bike evidence when he took her? No, staging of the bike evidence only makes sense if it was family related.

To the casual observer, Suzanne had it all. A handsome husband, gorgeous daughters and a huge, beautiful home. In reality, she was married to a self absorbed bully who alienated her daughters from her. She was undoubtedly lonely in that big fancy house 😢

In the beginning I really felt for her daughters. They love their dad he must have been a very good dad and they went through the trauma losing their beloved mom. Thirdly they already lost their mom if they lose their dad they would have no one. That being said with all the evidence layed out in front of them their refusal to see the truth is like pissing on their mother’s grave

This case is overall heartbreaking. It’s not just Suzanne family that is feeling this, but Jeff’s family as well. I can only imagine that his wife probably did not take the affair to well. I hate cheating.. I also don’t think Jeff ever planned on leaving his family for Suzanne even if they talked about marriage. If he truly cared for her, he would of came forward when she was first reported missing. I don’t think he had anything to do with her disappearance, but he hasn’t been one of my favorites either. Prayers for Suzanne, I hope we know the truth soon.

This case has touched my heart so badly.. Mrs Morphew (Suzanne Morphew) was my middle school English teacher.. I still think her husband has something to do with this.. she couldn't take it anymore because he had been being physically and mentally abused by him and even her daughter Macy wanted her to divorce him. I'm at a loss I don't want it to be him but all of the things that are evidence of what he was doing they don't add up they show him being shady. Breaks my heart Bec she is the most amazing gentle hearted person I ever have met. She didn't deserve this.i pray it wasn't him for the kids sake but idk with everything I have seen against him

I'm disgusted with the fact that she was battling cancer and her husband and daughters didn't seem to be there as a support system for her. That is tragic in and of itself. It's heartbreaking to think of her last moments on earth and for it to be on Mother's Day of all days. I do think Barry is guilty and I pray that the prosecutors on this case will have enough evidence to prove him guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. I can't help but to be a little disappointed in the daughters, am I the only one?

I feel like even if there is slight mystery to a case, it usually does end up being the most obvious person and theory that happened. Poor Suzanne x

I love the gratitude and genuineness of the DA's speech in her press conference but I do want to note, that the credit she gave for following every lead, having a meticulous investigation, uncompromised integrity, ... I feel like that is the minimum that we should always expect. It's sad thats it's not.

Barry decided to isolate Suzanne years before the Colorado move. By the spring of 2020 she WAS physically and emotionally isolated from her family and husband and daughters. She had ONE outlet in her boyfriend. Barry learned of this and took the final drastic steps of killing her and isolating her body in the most desolate of places. It’s clear to me that he’d premeditated her murder for years - while they still lived in Indiana. I suspect her cancer battle was the final straw for his fragile ego - any last bit of attention was redirected from him to Suzanne. He’s not a grown up man rather a spoiled brat.

I didn't know this case because when it happened, I was taking a break from true crime and politics, so am so glad you took the time to recap. I think it looks bad for Barry. Found it interesting about him turning on his employees for cooperating with the investigation, and would like to know who the man was who intimidated Morgan about not giving up her phone. I would have thought that he was a contracted killer, but doesn't seem likely Barry would have been in charge of cleanup if someone else had done the job. Will definitely want to follow this one.
