Excellent work quidsup I must dust down my old Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and give this a try over the Xmas & New Year. I have only one Windows 10 machine and wireshark goes into overload when it starts. Thankfully I only use it a handful of times.

I tried various extensions on different browsers but still there are questionable traffic amounts originating from some machines. The Linux desktops have a lower footprint of traffic but once you open the web browser connections increase to IP addresses which I can not trace.

There is a balance to be struck so advertisers can make money but some web sites are like a vacuum and just data mine all the data they can.

Hey man, nice video thank you!
may i ask you something? is it possible to run it with pihole on the same pi?
or on 2 Pis?
im not a pro but i have a pihole with unbound and i would like to continue using it.
but i think i have to decide for pihole or notrack, because both require to set the dns server in adapter settings.

so is there any way to run both on the same network (router at home)?

i am looking forward for a reply :D

which one is more recommended, if i have to decide for something?

I don’t have Twitter so sending this request by comment. Regarding browsers that use DNS over HTTPS is there a way to capture that data with NoTrack? Perhaps something external to NoTrack to redirect the DoH server IPs to the NoTrack server? Or setup NoTrack on a cloud host? Just curious your thoughts on it.

Hiya. I appreciate your work with NoTrack. Thanks. I'm devoid of a rasp pi and spare router etc but i will defintely try this when i can afford the hardware. Thanks.
ps.. can you give info on how this differs from PFSense? Can they both run on same device for example?

I removed the Apache install from PHP with "apt --no-install-recommends", I thought it was worth leaving in to show what happens when you end up with an improperly configured webserver being active on a device

Fantastic work and thank You, following for years and using notrack for last couple of years too . I have currently little issue despite reinstalling either just no track or full ubuntu with no track server on pi4. When going to admin web interface it keeps showing "block list missing". Nginx is running. Any advice? Greetings from York, North Yorkshire.

Nice, but I do have a pi-hole atm so I have to change my dns and make a few tests. Pi-hole is nice cause it allows easy on-off of domains and create custom and a few more things, that I haven't tried on yours. But I wish pi-hole had a few more options and more information on a few graphs. My pi-hole is on a virtual machine, not on a rasp-pi but it is critical these days to have one system like this because a "simple" television connects itself to so many domains like Netflix and also anti-social networks like Facebook. This cannot happen so it has to be done inside the network. Thanks.

I would love compatability for red hat based operating systems like rocky linux or alma linux
