Is the Cloak and Dagger a Newbie Trap?

A quick discussion on whether the Team Fortress 2 Spy watch “The Cloak and Dagger” is bad for new players.

Interestingly there's a Yu-Gi-Oh card called “Cloak and Dagger” and it's a trap card. Coincidence?

I have a feeling that I made the background visuals TOO interesting. It's hard to focus on what I'm saying. I hope people don't fall into that trap of zoning out on the shadow puppet works I mad.

The cloak and dagger is like the brass beast, it ment to be used for defense, wating in the corner for the enemies team to pass by and then un cloack behind them, or you can be like a radio tower broadcasting to your team what the opposing team is doing behind there lines

I prefer the versatility of the invis watch. Being able to move around the map rapidly and sneak around.

I like to use it to coordinate pushes by telling my team what the enemies are doing so they can it before they can do it. It’s also almost a direct upgrade with the L’Etranger the only down side being you can’t pick ammo to refill cloak while cloaked. I still prefer stock though

I use C&D + L'étranger because I'm bad at managing regular invis watch cloak timer. I have 3000+ hours at this game.

I use the C&D as a getaway, being able to hide invis and then quickly juke the enemy while still invis feels amazing, and it’s good for setup so you can see pick off players that are in fights

It's amazing for moments where the entire enemy team is trying everything in their power to find you, while you sit in a random spot hyperventilating

Nah, it's very useful at sneaking past enemies without running out of cloak, if ur almost out of cloak, go to somewhere an enemy won't walk past and when ur almost at their spawn door, decloak and take out anyone coming out of the spawn door, you should get an engineer and their sentry/teleporter while doing so

I personally use the cloak and dagger to slowly slither into the enemy area and then go full gamer mode.

I remember when I was new at the game this was the only watch I was using because I thought it was a straight upgrade.
it took me months until I realized that the mobility offered from the stock invisiwatch was awesome.
I ended up in a situation where someone HAD to destroy the enemy teleporters but I couldn't get passed the enemy lines with the cloack and dagger, I decided to use the stock invisiwatch because I noticed that since a lot of people die everywhere the map will be full of ammo boxes.

I think that I managed to successfully sap the teleporters but we still lost that round.

now thanks to the jungle inferno for nerfing the dead ringer to the point of being useless I only use the stock invisiwatch.

I just like the Cloak and Dagger because if you can hide well, you can't run out of cloak and be discovered. Plus, you don't have use the Le'tranger to hide effectively

The core use of the Cloak and Dagger is to go perma invis on an enemy point or engi nest to spam voiceline outta nowhere.

Psychological disturbance is a lot of fun.

I remember when i started playing the C&D was absolutely vital so i could have enough time to think my actions

I've never played the game consistently, ever, but I've never thought of the cloak and dagger as a way to stay still indefinitely.
I used it to move about and slink around without worry of being caught by the other team as I infiltrated their ranks (usually unsuccessfully) and would only stay in place when I needed to lay low to survive and/or to recharge

I usually use the cloak and dagger to get behind lines in stale mates and cause chaos so my team can make a push

I like the cloak and dagger because when I was a noob to TF2 I used it to watch engineer's to learn what they did and around when they would go to get ammo to refill their sentry or even repair it and used it to find the perfect time to sap their stuff
