They really do things like:

-Don't do anything for the project
-Ask the teacher to switch partners right in front of your face
-Talking to their friends on the other side of the room the whole time
-Them calling you names like: "Her" "Nerd" "She"
-Talking rudely about you with their friend while you're just sitting there awkwardly wishing you were partnered up with someone else
-Just name you something completely different after you've told them your name multiple times
-And of course, *The. Finger. Pointing*

Once i was paired up with a popular boy on a project and he just left the classroom and came back at the end of class, so i did the whole thing myself. The teacher was furious at him.

Edit: for those asking what happend after, the teacher called his mum and he started crying in the hallways in front of the entire grade. He got no credit. He was made fun of for a month but then he got with the most popular girl in the grade and everyone forgot.

the popular girls are more discreet about their rudeness, they’ll stare at u when you talk then turn to their friend and slightly smile or snicker while you talk, they’ll expect you to do the majority or even all of the work and give them an equal amount of credit although at my school most of the popular girls were actually nice and smart, they were extroverted as well so they took on more of the talking and manager roles which i appreciated as a shy i person who liked to do the bare minimum

This had happened to me more than once- basically, after this one day they are GOING to forget- so instead of catching them up on the project, just do the whole thing yourself, and then when you have to present, simply has a whole slide (or page or what ever) explaining why your partner didn’t do ANYTHING. And when you’re writing the project, write at the bottom who did this part of the project, after you finish presenting. The teacher WILL have questions for your partner, and simply sit there and watch them fail :)

I don't get why people like this can be popular. All these years of being in school, the popular girls were the ones that are good at everything (studying, co-curricular activities and have their lives together) but are still super nice to people. This is what makes people like them and gives them a good reputation in school.

Every time this has happened to me I just go to the instructor like “hey, (insert partner’s name) has done zero of the work and has been doing other things, may I just work by myself?” worked every time, and they end up failing the project (I want to feel bad but it’s their fault…) the most annoying part is when they legit think I can’t hear them even though I literally can hear them even if they were halfway across the room.
