Hey guys, it's Jill from the four lazy J's! It's finally my turn to be in front of the camera a little bit to show you what I do to put my art degree to some use. I build and paint custom signs onto rustic barn wood. I do small, sweet and simple, to giant and complex, plus everything in between- so I thought I'd show you a glimpse of my process, from editing to cutting my stencil, painting, sanding, and finishing this sign order.
Usually I use reclaimed wood from my stockpile, but this order started with a anniversary gift idea, and an amazing old white cabinet door. I made a few proofs for them to choose from, and used my vinyl cutter to cut my stencil before setting off to paint it, and most importantly sand, sand, sand it. My little helper, June, even decided to add a little red paint to the sign towards the end!
