Corey Hart, the only guy who can wear his sunglasses at night and not look douchey. Another great remix to another classic!

Thanks 🙏again for this great video and one of the best mixes on Youtube. Before I watch the video, I give it a thumbs up. I have never been disappointed. Not here either.
The story of how this song came about is maybe not uninteresting. It is one of those lucky moments in the life of an artist who is not yet famous. In spring of '83, Corey was a 19-year-old kid from Montreal recording in a studio near Manchester, England. At the end of May, shortly before his 20th birthday, he finally held a cassette in his hands containing the finished recordings of eleven original songs that would make up his debut album "First Offense". But one more song was yet to come. Track twelve, 'Sunglasses At Night'. It hadn't been written yet, but the idea had already begun its underground journey through his creative subconscious. During the recording sessions, it rained almost every day he was in the UK. To keep it short, Corey had Ray-Ban sunglasses with him, but he never had the opportunity to use them. Corey started playing around with a melodic line and a phrase called “My cigarette got wet”. It's an ironic lyric because Corey had never smoked a cigarette in his life. It was late at night and he put on these sunglasses and sang “I wear my sunglasses at night” to this catchy melodic tune. The rest is history.

Imagine wearing sunglasses at night while wearing blue suede shoes and a raspberry beret.
