Resident Evil 2 (GBA Tech Demo) - Gameplay

The GameBoy Advance version of Resident Evil 2 was a tech demo created in the early 2000s by Raylight Studios, an Italian company to pitch their Blue Roses engine. By this point in time Capcom had lost interest in the viability of GameBoy ports, and the pitch was rejected.

This is insane for a GBA. Still amazing after all these years. It was also MGS demo.

Funny how, by then, there was no interest in this and it had became obsolete in every possible way....and yet, this is absolutely IMPRESSIVE. To even think of adapting a PSX game into GBA, even using 3D models, it's just absolutely insane, and they were actually pulling it off!! Shame they tried it far too late in the game; it would have been absolutely bonkers. (To this day, I maintain that the GBA is one of the most impressive devices EVER, and a DAMN good console)

This is probably the best graphics I've ever seen on GBA (at least considering it looks pretty close to the PSX version on a much less powerful device.) Those pre-rendered backgrounds are very close to the original. The main issue is the 3D models look clunky but the zombies flying backwards when you shoot them is pretty cool 👌

Some character details on this are actually impressive. When Leon backs up he looks over his shoulder. The ps4 remake doesn’t even have that!

Can you imagine if this series debuted on the GBA like this?
This would be a total break through for nintendo.
This would be considered thee greatest game to ever grace hand held gaming.
The shock for this series would have been greater too.

Played this a while back, it's a shame it was never made. Have you seen the original Tomb Raider port for the GBA yet it's very impressive

I wish we'd gotten a port of one of the OG games to the 3DS. Deadly Silence is great and a DS treatment for 2 and 3 would've also been good.
