It's amazing what a pair of talented hands can do. When you at first thought the compressor had no hope, there was an actual solution to restore it to brand new condition. Great job here!!

Anyone else notice that he did not mask off the mating surfaces and primed and painted parts of the metal that should never have paint on them. They need caskets next to bare metal to ensure there are no future leaks? As soon as the paint job cracks or flakes on those surfaces he will end up with a leak.

Amazing job completely rewinding that stator!! Fabulous job saving that old compressor. That will make a great tool for someone's shop for many years to come. That is a big motor and it looks like a million bucks now. Great job. Enjoyed watching this video.

The air tank is a UXB . Those hammered on motor bearings sound terrible because they are wrecked . The motor was star /delta when taken apart but was not after the rewind . That welded up wheel will not last 5 minutes either. Short cuts everywhere. A really good example of how not to do it .

Was the tank pressure tested or do you have a ticking time bomb on your hands?

Unless I missed the inside of the tank wasn't shown the condition it's in. Tanks that are not in great shape on the inside tend to explode. Other wise good job.

Is it just me or did he do anything to rebuild piston? Crankshaft? Liner? I did not see one Torque Wrench ???

I am guessing that there are no torque values for the bolts being tightened down?

I have an almost identical machine. I always thought it was home made. The tank came from the Army 1943!

While this was finished quite nicely .... I have questions. 1) Why didn't they sandblast most all of the exterior surfaces, resulting in a smoother finish? 2) why on earth did they paint the rotor of the electric motor? They took that much trouble to rewind the stator... won't that cause a fire, or at least a premature failure of the rotor??? Good grief!
