I wouldn't call what we have in the UK a Democracy Either. A two-party system with both identical in Incompetence and No real vision belief or Faith in either.

Putin is an oligarchy by himself, however he refuses to allow gloabilists to run over his country.
I'm sorry. For all his failings. I admire him for not sacrificing his countries culture for the benefit of a few.
And to realise that paper curency is not power.
Honour is.

Democracy is a very hard thing to do. The ancient Greeks who started it, simply gave up on it, because it caused too much squabbling and conflict . It's only the British, the English in particular who managed with sheer perseverance and the corinthian spirit managed to perfect it . The Christian church brought all the previously warring groups, tribes and clans of the British Isles, together and set up a parliament where the monarch's people could in a safe nuetral place (Westminster) freely discuss, anything and everything, and every problem, could be resolved by a simple majority decision.

We have as a result the oldest continuous parliament in history. It brought the benefit of political stability and through trading economic prosperity . The British on their maritime expeditions of discovery, took the concept around the globe. It worked in some cultures, ie India but not in others, such as in Africa and the Middle east, where even today different clans, tribes, religions etc, still fight each other for dominance etc etc...

I think there should be term limits. It isn't a good idea for a person to be in a position of power indefinitely. This also applies to people like Merkel not just Putin.

I wanna go live there, it is a lot safer than living in the UK, at least it has a leader respected if not loved around the world while in the UK we voted in the class clown and now Russia views us as easy pickings, because we are - enrolling for Russian classes and brushing up my cv as I go jobhunting
