I'm not American, I'm from Europe. I had heard about books being banned from schools in some states, but I never thought that it would become illegal for librarians to check them out. Illegal? For real? That is hardcore censorship. Americans always seem so proud of their freedom, I wonder when they will realise that they aren't free. Censorship can never be a sign of freedom.

I have a masters degree in library science. I am not a librarian but I love librarians. My favourite course was on censorship. Books and those who run libraries should be protected by the First Amendment.

Those who are the accused in a criminal trial, who are harassing and intimidating witnesses, jurors and other judicial system participants, and getting their riot-happy lemmings to do the same, should not enjoy the same level of protected speech.

Why is that so hard to understand?

I loved your Librarian segment.
My Mom worked for years in the children's department of our local library. Mom & I learned so much about American Black History every February when her head Librarian, Marlene, would give her a list of books about our Black Innovators to put in a prominent display case in the middle of their department.
