For Blender version 3.2 > I noticed a bug for which the water surface does not display correctly. If you go to the wireframe-view mode, you can see that the ripples are created correctly, so the underlying geometry is correct. But the normals are not recalculated for the surface, so we get an erroneous outlook in the solid view mode. Fortunately I discovered a simple fix for this. For the canvas object, in the modifiers tab, you'll find a Dynamic Paint modifier added by Blender. Add a simple deform modifier after this. You can use any of the four options like twist or bend etc. but enter zero in the angle/amount field. So effectively there won't be any change in the shape but the normals will be recalculated. Now the ripples will display correctly. If you use any other modifier that forces the recalculation of the normals, the ripples will display correctly. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. I'll report it to the developers team.
