Sabastian went from being a wedding singer to fronting one of the best up and coming bands and opening for Bon Jovi practically overnight. And to be fair, he was only 19 years old. I'm not making excuses, but he was young and crazy and the recognition went to his head, and despite his "pretty boy" looks, he had one of the best and most recognizable voices around. Skid Row with Sabastian will always be one of my favorite bands of that era.

During the Slave To The Grind tour with Pantera, I saw them live. I was just a kid then, all wild and stuff.
I tried jumping onto the stage when Bach was right in front of me. All of the security starts pulling me down, and they stop, turn me around, and here's this long left arm sticking down from the stage. Bach pulled me onto the stage, gave me a high five, and yelled into my ear: "Go off the middle, dude!".
I flew off the stage into the crowd.
The most intense experience of my young life up to that point.
Regardless of how much of a douche Bach can be sometimes, that was a pretty rad moment for me.

I've met Sebastian and he was unlike his reputation had suggested to me over the years. We are the same age, only a few days apart. I remember when his father passed away, it was hard on him as it would me many people. I remember him packing up his dad's stuff and saying how a whole lifetime just fills a truck after your dead. And that was it. I think he's a good guy overall.

Rachel once said, "there were nights that cost us more to keep Bach out of jail than we made at the gig"

I really believe that Sabastian and Dave both cut off their noses to spite their faces. As I mentioned before, Sabastian was young and wild, but Skid Row never could capture the magic without Sabastian, and Sabastian never made big as a solo artist. But those of us who had the chance to see them live have some awesome memories.

having his high caliber of singing during this time is a fair entitlement to choose what kind of song he should sing. He was clearly the star of Skid Row and it showed how big a star he really was when they kicked him out and the band almost went dark into oblivion while Bach was pretty much still relevant at that point.

I saw Skid Row in 1992 and I thought wow, that band is awesome live! Then when Sebastian went solo in the late 90's I caught him twice on tour once in 98' and than again in early 2000 and I thought wow I'm seeing Skid Row again. Then when I saw Skid Row open for KISS with a new lead singer I thought, what the Hell is this? This isn't Skid Row, this is the most bland band I've ever seen. Then it hit me, Sebastian Bach was the entire band. Sebastian has so much stage presence when he's performing and he treats every show like it's his last just in case it is!

To big to open for Kiss? Skid Row? In 1996? That's actually hilarious! By 96 the world had moved from glam metal to grunge to punk and was just starting nu metal. Plus it hadn't even been 10 years since Skid Row was relevant, not long enough for those over priced nostalgia shows old rock bands like to put on. Skid Row in 96 shouldn't be passing up any paying gigs. Sorry, but that's how it goes in rock and roll!

The band that wrote the song Youth gone mad that their singer is a youth gone wild. Hmmm.

Skid Row isn't Skid Row without Bach, it will never work, they need Bach more than he needs them, Bach is an odd guy but he loves Rock and Roll and his fans, I'm glad I got to see them back in the day.

I met Sebastian briefly at a couple KISS shows in Toronto Canada, he was a frantic high energy dude that really loved KISS! His book was a good read

I still have to say Sebastians best work was his time spent on The Trailer Park Boys.
He played that role perfectly.

My very first concert ever was Bon Jovi and Skid Row opened up for them here in Florida in the late 80’s. Great concert. I’d have to side with Bach on this one. He’s played with tons of other bands and got along great with them. He always seemed humble in his interviews and let’s not forget, he was just a teenager when they blew up. The rest of the band seemed like they wanted full control and kept him in the outside.

The most tragicomical thing is that the band refused to open for Kiss only so some years later they tour... opening for Kiss 🎄

God he is an utter childish ass, but lord was he an unbelievable singer back then. IMO I don’t think you can find a rock singer live that was more spot on than their Wembley (I believe it was) concert. Gives me chills just thinking about how he was able to hit every note with ease.

Baz is a chore to live with day to day I'm sure we can all agree. But looking at how many singers the band has been through, he might not be the only problem.

There's an interview with Nuno, somewhere here on YouTube, where he was on the plane with Skid Row. Someone cut Baz off from drinking and got in a fight with the pilot. The part that stands out the most and literally says it all is when Nuno looks at Snake and says, arn't you going to do something, to which he doesn't do anything and flips his newspaper/magazine like "just another day at the office". That is the most 3rd party, don't have a horse in anyone's race, straight up truth on how out of control Baz was becoming during that time period.

FOUND IT!! It's at the 22 minute mark!! "Hometown Sessions Ep. 6 'Nuno Bettencourt' Sully Erna" in YouTube search!

Bach seems like an awesome uncle who stops by once every few years gives you a beer crashes on the couch and leaves in the morning before you wake

So Bas has stated that he contacted KISS and said that they would do the tour, the KISS reunion tour and one of the band members wanted to do some sort of punk side project and would not step away from it to go on this tour. Bas was pissed, being a lifelong KISS fan and called one of the guys during a holiday and tore him a new ass on the answering machine which was heard by everyone in the room. I don't blame Bas at all. The other guys dropped the ball.

Anybody that’s been around Sebastian for more than 2 minutes will totally understand why there will NEVER be. a reunion……
