A few years ago I heard Robert play at Berghain Berlin. I will never forget how he started playing "Floorplan - Baby Baby" on this incredible Function One sound system, in this surreal location and how my heart started to match his beats and the people starting to go nuts.

That moment is burned into my head.

I still feel that magic today and will remember it when I'm old and my life is over one day...

Even today his sets are amazing and you can see and hear the harmony between him and his daughter when they play together.

There is something effortlessly cool about the Detroit guys. Nothing has changed about them in decades, yet every party turns into a full rave when they get behind the wheels. Its really as basic as a mixer, some mean sound-check, roughed up mono records and big vocals.

Robert Hood is a true artist. Vision, concept, technique, passion, purpose. The ultimate representation and evolution of what he and the originators began back in Detroit. And I think it’s safe to say the next generation is in good hands with musicians like his daughter Lyric.

That bit from 46:00 where Lyric is playing a bomb groove and Dad nods and starts peeling through his tracks thinking "I've got to top this". There's sort of like a little knowing smile when he appears to find the track he's looking for.

Yall DO know it's not just him. Mad respect for supplying crucial tunes and remixes since 1996. But this set is ridiculous! Thos father daughter TEAM has this party LIT UP! Had me smilin the whole time!

Fair play, in the 25 + years I've been watching/ listening to him ; he hasn't half changed from those dark minimal nation tracks he used to cut with the Wu Tang down at Voodoo in Liverpool mid-90s. Seems much happier these days and that reflects in his music. Respect Rob . Love to Eunice and Lyriic
