A fantastic video from a bygone era. I bought the album New Gold Dream right after it came out in early 1983. It was a revelation of really good music that I still listen to some 42 years later. What really impressed me at the time, beyond the brilliant bass line and the outstanding keyboard playing, was how Jim Kerr used his voice as an instrument. He not only sang to the music, but was a crucial part of the overall soundscape in a way that I had never heard before and it still sounds absolutely fantastic.

I saw Simple Minds I guess in 1983 in Heidelberg/Germany, I believe they had the exact same pants and shirts :-) But even better, this clip brings me back in time, like it was just yesterday. Awesome piece of music, it was so different then arriving at this new sound after 10 years of 70s rock music (which I still love as well!)
