The contrast of the designs would be so much better on the clear taillights if she used a tinted clear coat before engraving the taillight housing and a clear coat after, that way the plastic that isn’t engraved is a bit darker than the engraved plastic, making the design really pop out.

I engraved mine years ago. Got a fine for it's not permitted in this state. It's against the law here.
