Atomberg, a disruptor in India's ceiling fan market, was founded by two IIT Bombay engineers, Manoj Meena and Shibam Das. Recognizing the inefficiency of traditional induction motors used in ceiling fans, they introduced Brushless DC motors, making fans more energy-efficient. Their journey began with the realization of a personal struggle with electricity shortages in Manoj's hometown, which sparked a passion for energy conservation.

Initially, Atomberg struggled with traditional sales channels due to higher-priced, feature-rich fans. However, they found success by targeting B2B clients like hospitals and schools, leveraging the energy-saving benefits of their fans. This strategy helped them gain traction and secure major clients like Tata and Indian Railways.

Entering the online market in 2016, Atomberg faced challenges due to a lack of brand recognition and after-sales service. However, they focused on product functionality and customer trust, offering a 'no questions asked return and refund' policy. This approach helped them quickly become top-rated sellers on Amazon and Flipkart.

With rapid online growth, Atomberg secured funding and expanded into offline retail. By creating a demand for their products online, they successfully transitioned into offline channels, establishing a strong presence in over 6,000 stores.

While fans remain Atomberg's flagship product, they have broader ambitions. Leveraging their expertise in efficient motors, they plan to diversify into smart home appliances, targeting a lucrative market. Recognizing the importance of brand trust and perfecting one product before expanding, Atomberg aims to replicate the success of industry giants like TATA.

Key learnings from Atomberg's journey include the importance of perfecting a single product and finding niche segments with less competition. By mastering B2B and e-commerce channels first, Atomberg built a strong brand that propelled them into more competitive markets.

Overall, Atomberg's success story showcases the power of innovation, strategic positioning, and relentless pursuit of excellence in disrupting traditional industries.

Someone has to build smart water pump to fix water wastage. Many homes run their water pumps until their tanks filled and overflown which accounts for a lot of water wastage

I think there are a lot of problems with this business. Firstly, the lifecycle of one fan is easily 15-20 years on an average. People don't find the need to change their fans. Fans can never be made cool enough for the customer to upgrade it. And even if someone's fan need to be replaced, it is difficult to make customers see the value atomberg fans bring over the years. And finally, I don't see the competitive advantage that the company has to be sustainable. With all the resources that havells, crompton has, I am 100% sure that they can replicate the technology and make similar products if they feel the threat. This is just my opinion.

Its simple to get revenue by losing money. I think we must highlight both revenue and profitability. At the end Revenue feeds the Ego but Profit feeds the Family.

This is what ola Is doing wrong they should have mastered 1 sku and then should have expanded whereas the company is looking to increase there sku's more and more without mastering any 1 of them which could pay them a heavy price in future if they don't take preventive steps although I really want them to succeed in each and every category hoping for their best

Atomberg is an interesting concept but we use fans for only 2 months annually so upgrading it doesn't make much sense.

Great video, good insights.
Don't mean to be mean but the AI photo generator you are using is composing botched up images of Indians. Not sure why though?
