Deleting is for dramatic reliability increases, not necessarily for horsepower. I highly recommend eliminating the SVR and DEF while installing and aftermarket exhaust and lift pump. Deleting the EGR doesn’t mean removing it. The ECM can be tuned to bypass the EGR so you can still pass emissions.

I want a full delete as to not pump all the garbage back through the engine and lower my EGT The fact my oil comes out so full of soot is concerning.

So today I'm at my local GMC dealer I asked about installing a fass lift pump because that's something I've wanted to do to help the cp4. I know stupid idea to ask about modifying the truck but I did. They said it would void the warranty because it's sending more fuel and would just recirculate through and could damage other components. They even said lifting the truck could void the warranty so I guess be careful what you do if you want your warranty. Just wanted to get your thoughts on this thanks!

Yes .you are pushing note to delete, but you know it's not good for diesel to have all that trash in. My duremax deleted has 478 k. An still running like champ.😉

So I was just listening to your most recent podcast and you guys said you are giving a 10% discount on tuning for all duramax's and I noticed you didn't specify it must be emissions compliant. I was just thinking you might want to mention that because I called twice last year wanting to get my lmm tuned and due to the fact it was already deleted you guys couldn't tune it for me (which is really to bad because I loved the tune Nick gave me for a lb7 I had 7 or 8 years ago, so I was quite disappointed). Now please don't take this as a complaint I'm just making a suggestion. I really enjoy the podcast, definitely one of my favorites so keep them coming!!

So my issue with deleting my 2015 LML, specifically the DPF & DEF is that they've been nothing but problematic! DEF heater going out repeatedly, the 9th injector failing and now DPF failure and not going into regen. I would want to delete to avoid continued issues! I live in MI so no issue with regulations here..

Before delete 17.5 mpg highway .Deleted / tuned/ lift pump = 23 mpg hwy at 78 mph with Cruse control.

I’m still following you guys and would love to get my truck in there but Houston to Michigan is a long haul. My issue might be simple for you all but for me it’s frustrating. I have a 2005 LLY. I rebuilt the motor and basically stock with a Ryan’s turbo 64mm. The issue is that I have to press the pedal almost all the way down to get up and go and it’s still slow from 0-40mph. I have the calibrated power tuner and we went through numerous runs to try to get more out of it but I still have a sluggish motor 0-40. I wish Houston had someone that knows performance. I hardly think I’m above 500hp. If someone could solve this low end take off power issue I would pay them a $1000 just for the info if it worked. I would love to have it accelerate more like a gasoline motor. I was shooting for that goal with the upgrades on the turbo, tuner and larger turbo inlet and outlet pipe. Sure wish I could solve this. I have a F250 that has a man made dirty tune and it’s crazy fast off the line which I like but it’s a smoker. I can handle smoke but not the heavy stuff like this one is putting out on the Ford. I’m about to turn it down about 25hp just to get it more dependable.

The reliability of deleting make a big difference. I don't by trucks and trade in to get the new motor/body style...Those people will not benefit. I towed 20k lbs and don't plan on getting a new gmc duramax for 10 years. My last deleted duramax was 2008 and had no motor issues. Before I deleted I fought the particulate filter regeneration 5 or 6 times with only 12lbs. Deleted trucks have lower egt's than a stock truck. I had no problem trading in my truck...if you live in CA. don't bother. I do plan on doing some of these upgrades, the quality is 2nd to none.

Can I tune the truck for now and then if I was to do the delete can I use the same tuner?

Iv got a 2011 lml you ever come across a Trans slipping due to a bad tune or know of any issues? Thx

What about regeneration? So in tunning you add more fuel right? And if it's not a super clean tune itll throw your truck into regeneration more often because as everyone knows more fuel more smoke hence more regeneration. Worse full mileage. Just delete and be done. What I've learned is dont waist your money on the fancy crap. Keep factory piping minus dpf and everything else under the truck, factory intake box, swap the cp4 to cp3 and call it a day unless your doing some serious engine and trans work.

Just curious, why would electrical connectors become corroded after driving a deleted truck through a winter?

Was going to delete till I watched this, now I believe tuning would be the way I would go.

What power/torque do the 5 tunes normally add?

"MPG depends on your driving style" *constantly races and plays around on the road and wonders why he runs out of diesel so much*

I have a question? I have a 2015 lml, 3500hd and I need insight on deleting my truck. The pros and cons. I’ve heard that it clogs your truck. Or steals power. People just say to delete it, it’s better. I have no real reason why I would delete it or why I wouldn’t. Please help!

So I have never owned a diesel and am just now looking into it. Don't you have to get an annual emissions inspection just like on a gas motor?? How do you get around that if you have deleted?

davidmbradley

When it comes to deleting, most guys don’t care about the potential of power, it’s more so the longevity of the engine core itself. Purchasing failed emission components or the subsequent parts that fail because of them is expensive. Have you seen the replacement cost of a modern egr or dpf?? Not doing that.
