I love the fact that out of any song that could've played on that radio, Free Bird was it! I couldn't think of a more perfect song for that truck's revival, lol

The fact that the first song that has played on that radio since at least 2017 is, specifically, the solo from Freebird is extremely poetic.

I'm glad you pointed out how important it is to always install a new throw out bearing when you pull a transmission. If a bearing siezes, it will eat the pressure plate and everything else in there; it just isn't worth the risk. Don't ask me how I know that!

For lack of power- check for vacuum leaks in the intake! Not just visually, but hook up a smoker and smoke the thing. On mine there were a BUNCH of cracks in the old intake pipe (smearing rubber cement over the whole thing helped), as well as a few leaks around the throttle plate shaft. Patching all that made the old truck a bit happier and bumped up gas mileage a little bit.
It's funny though, can hardly do 70 just hauling one person, but put two tons of stuff in the bed/trailer and it still performs the same! It's like these Rangers want to do work, great little trucks.

Check the Throttle position sensor for the 4k hang up issue. Just a thought. Also, tightly wrap 1 layer of Duct tape around the knerled threads on the shifter handle and hammer home the shift knob. It wont go anywhere after that. Call an auto windshield replacment company and have them cut a piece of safety glass to the rear window dimensions.

My second gambler 500 rig was a 94 2wd 4.0l stick shift ranger I bought from an auto auction for $250 from the "non-running" section.. I aired up the tires, jumped the battery, and drove it home on flat spotted tires. Seeing this revival just warms my heart and reminds me of my own ranger build that I miss. Thanks again!

My dad had a 94 ranger, and he passed away a year ago, so it's safe to say that seeing this video brought back a lot of memories. Thank you for this it helps me cope with his death.

I love the old Ranger. I have a 99 Ranger XLT that my dad bought new, 3.0 liter V6, automatic, power steering, power brakes, a/c, cruise control, am, fm, and cassette player. He only drove it a couple miles a day to and from his work. Around 2012 dad asked if he could park it under a carport at my house as mom wanted the space in their garage for her gardening. After about a year, dad asked if I'd like to have it. I immediately took his offer. Today it's back in the garage at Mom's. It gets driven about once a month. Still looks like new and has 55k miles. I'll never sell it. Maybe someday I'll pass it down to someone in the family.

I like how quiet you guys are in the fabric store, like you're worried one of your buddies will see you in there.😂😂😂

Bought a 94 ranger for 700 bucks recently. Electric blue, 4x4 5 speed 3.0. been a battle to get it running right, but its such a good little truck. Everyone needs a ranger

Kevin, i love the part when you meet with the previous owner to talk about the history of the vehicle in detail. it was really cool to see you making him nostalgic and happy about restoring his old car and make it roadworthy again. He looks just like yo... Oh, wait, it's You ! As always, thanks for the upload, now i can sit down and dig into my favourite JYD.

Free Bird being on the radio is the biggest sign the truck should be back on the road lol

I'm sure this will get lost in the comments. But I very much appreciate you guys setting a good example by wearing safety goggles whenever your were working under the truck. My dad lost sight in one eye because he didn't wear correct PPE despite him dismissing me for years. I work in an environment where they are mandatory and working on my projects at home, I always wear them if I'm under a car or working with fluids. It has saved me on more than one occasion!

When I was a broke high schooler I had a 2.3 5 speed ranger. Then when I was down on my luck going to trades school I bought another for $1000. Both made it over half a million kms. These will always have a really special place in my heart. It got me and my friends where We needed to go for cheap and ran off parts from the junkyard. I have a 7.3 power stroke F350 now but I still miss my old trucks!

I love the graphics of these 90s stx rangers and AMT/Ertl made model kits/promo models for these in many colors they are cheap to find as well, very nice!

Once I heard freebird play from the radio I knew this thing would be back to its former glory in no time at all

I know you like to do a lot of American muscle cars but try finding a 80-82 Corolla wagon. Their little carbed ohv 4 cylinders and have a really big following. Thanks and keep up the amazing work!

As many of those things that were produced by Ford and Mazda, it's hard to fathom that you couldn't find a trans for that thing in any junk yard or a parts truck rotting away in a treeline somewhere.
