When you raise a tiny animal with a bottle and many hand feedings for several weeks you have a special bond and a deep love for it! Its entire existance depended on you! The reason why any baby is so cute is for the love and attention needed for survival until that baby has grown enough to become more independent! So sweet! Not everyone can raise a baby animal at such an early age!

I found two little black kittens on a pavement in the middle of a busy bus rank in our city centre. It was winter time, but fortunately I live in Durban South Africa so it's not terribly cold but still too cold for kittens under a week old to be exposed like that. Heard crying and just followed the sound. Luckily I have some experience with fostering kittens. I had the necessary things for them, heating pad and such. Knew how to make emergency formula because I had to hunt for formula. Feeding every 2 hours and helping them eliminate, it's challenging. I didn't sleep. Plus they were covered in parasites. I did not allow myself to be hopeful until they made it to 4 weeks old but I did give them names. Strong names that have meaning so maybe they would live up to the names. The smaller boy I named Bjorn because I wanted him to grow up strong like a bear. The larger but weaker and more timid boy I named Grim because everyone fears the reaper but the reaper fears nothing and I wanted him to be fearless. Plus another name for Odin is Grim. It worked I guess. They lived up to their names. Most importantly, they lived.

My respect to anyone who’s had to bottle feed a kitten. It’s extremely exhausting because they eat so frequent . This means you’re getting up at least 2 or 3 times during the night. Frankie looks so handsome and well taken care of.
