The multi-award-winning Jack Thorne (This is England, Let The Right One In, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) breathes new life into Woyzeck, one of the most extraordinary plays ever written.

It’s 1980s Berlin. The Cold War rages and the world sits at a crossroads between Capitalism and Communism. On the border between East and West, a young soldier (John Boyega) and the love of his life are desperately trying to build a better future for their child.

But the cost of escaping poverty is high in this searing tale of the people society leaves behind.

Super EXCITED to see Woyzeck on 15th May - booked way back - loved the interview - living in Nunhead just a stones throw from Peckham have seen posters everywhere - So proud of John Boyega he really has earned this and let's hope his wish to perform Othello will become a reality - I am sure it will.
Congrats to The Old Vic for giving a black actor the lead role - all too rare - and hope this will become trend setting in the UK.

I just recently put on an adaptation of Woyzeck at my uni for my final year assessment so would be nice to see be done better by professionals :)
