How Moebius Used Perspective

I deconstructed the perspective techniques of a variety of artists to discover how they achieved the illustion of depth in their works. In this segment, I look at three works by Moebius. This was originally a livestream, which I have trimmed down for clarity. I'm not an expert on perspective, but I have used it for decades in my work. This study is a combination of talking about what I know, and seeking out what I don't, with the assistance of some of my viewers, who provide their own insights and observations.

You can watch the whole livestream here, where I look at works by Gustave Dore, Hiroshige, Jim Woodring, and Frank Miller, among others.

This study was a points redemption by one of my viewers, who requested we study perspective. If you accumulate enough channel points (aka watch time on my Twitch stream), you can redeem them for an artist study, and choose the artist, or in this case, the topic.

I livestream on Twitch every Tuesday and Friday 10am Taiwan time (GMT +8)
aka
Monday and Thursday 10pm on the east coast of the USA (an hour earlier when the clocks are turned back)

You can find my work at:

What's extraordinary about Moebius' work in Airtight Garage is that at that stage he was drawing directly in ink, without any kind of sketch.

Moebius was fantastic at using color to convey depth information. Great video!

:Major Grubert is not positioned correctly for his size. He is too close to the horse to be that proportion. Move him up to put him farther back, or draw him a bit larger.
