2023 Rossignol Experience 86 Basalt - SkiEssentials.com Ski Test

I'm 5'7" and about 142 lbs. Intermediate skier, who mostly sticks to groomers and occasional powder if we get lucky. I am currently skiing 2019 Atomic Vantage 79c and was thinking about shifting up to the 2023 Experience 86 Basalt. The Atomic's were my first pair of skis - would these be a big step up/worth it, or not different enough to notice a difference for an intermediate skier?

Hi, I am at 179cm, 78kg. I rate myself strong intermedia level. The snow conditions I ski are very much mixed. 90% groom runs, scratchy and icy early in the morning, then soften up and chopped through out the day. Off-piste skiing still a close-distance dream for me, so I am not too worried about skis application for off-piste. Should I go with 82 or 86, then should I go for 167-168cm or 176cm? So far my longest rental was a Rossy exp 76 at 173cm, and I felt the tails of them. Many thanks

Torn between this ski, the ripstick 88, and the blaze 86 or 94 for my dad. He’s turning 70 and needs a light ski that holds edge well on east coast ice. He’s a slow on trail green/blue skier so needs something forgiving. Any other recs are welcome!

Hi, Similar size to the comment below - I am 180cm (6ft) and 78KG. I like the look of these but wasn't sure which length to go for and why? I was thinking around 184/185 - is that too long? I want something for all mountain with the option of off-piste and I would say I am an advanced skier. Cheers

Hi, I been using the experience 88 178cm since 2012. best ski ever had. Now I need to change it because the edge is wasted..
I found those exp 86 basalt brand new, but the only thing who scared me is the 185cm. Im a advance skier with more than 20 seasons. the 185cm its a good deal for me?

Between the 86 basalt in 158cm or the 82 basalt in 160cm what would be the better pick and better fit do you think?

This is the ski I bought, I love it but I would have enjoyed a demo day to try all skiis
