Yes, he's using swashplate instead of servoflap and twisting blade (a complication that's probably extremely difficult to replicate at this scale) but hugely impressive. Looks, and seems to fly, like a real K-MAX. Very cool.

I worked at South Rim Grand Canyon in 2009 when a K Max was brought in to remove wreckage from a guest who purposely drove over the cliff. Ever since I have a fond appreciation for this small craft and it's ability to lift objects up like it was nothing.

One of my favorite helicopters (also CH-47). No servo flaps on the rotor blades? Does it use a swashplate instead? Amazing how full scale version can fly without hydraulics.

Wow this is wild, love it. I fly Quadcopter and race quads FPV with goggles. Need a forward camera on this with some long range video transmitter !

How in the heck did he get yaw control? Are the control surfaces actually identical to the kmax with the flaplets on the rotor blades?

Hello everyone. I've been reading the responses here and have a question. Some of you are using the term "servo flap." What is that referring to? I understand that the rotor blades have to flap to combat dissymmetry of lift in translational flight but I've never heard the term "servo flap" before. I did note that the direction of rotation had the advancing blade (the one that would be flapping upwards) of each rotor hub crossing over the adjacent rotor which should minimize the possibility of contact.
