For anyone wanting to make this... but are very busty and have had zero luck making these kinda tops that make your girls look amazing... DO THIS TOP! I have a basket of about 10 cute crochet tops that I hate cause they don't suit my body. I was ready to give up but wanted a quick project. Followed this using the measurements provided and I feel amazing in this top! Gonna try others of Britts tutorials now too!

This tutorial is INCREDIBLE!! Before this morning I didn’t know how to make anything other than a blanket… 7 hours later I am now the proud owner of this top!! You made it SO easy to make and follow along. Thank you ☺️

I'm a crocheter from WAY back and I am so thrilled to see so many people learning how to crochet and keeping the tradition and art going! I am so happy to see this resurgence in this field. I can't wait to see what everyone makes and all the new cool patterns that you all come up with!! Happy Hooking!!

This tutorial has got to be the most useful and clear crochet tutorial I've ever seen. This is my first clothing piece (I have done blankets, amigurumi and such before) and it's going great! Only straps to go.

This is amazing! I’d say I’m just slightly above beginner but I was able to complete this in one day (about 5/6 hours) with only minimal mistakes! This pattern is pretty forgiving if you don’t get something quite right. I highly recommend:) thank you!

I made this in the Large/D size, and it came out quite well!
I used a 5.5 clover amour hook and Universal Yarn Deluxe Worsted Superwash 100% wool yarn in the pomegranate heather color. I bought two skeins, each 218yd/200m, 3.5oz/100g. For my neck strap, I HDC'd down instead of SS because I knew I wanted that part to have some more thickness to make it more durable + make it more comfortable on my neck. For the back corset ribbon, I chained about 280 or so. I ended up only using one skein and had just enough yarn left to make a matching wristlet! If I had to guess, I probably used about 200yd to make the whole top in the Large/D size, including the corset ribbon.
If I was to make this again, I'd probably increase the 'chain 10' used to make the under-the-arm part, as that would allow my corsetback to be closer together. I also might've added one or two more rows of [DC, ch, DC] on the bottom part of the top as the uh, *additional weight* up top caused the cups to cover much of that section. I also chose to add a metal ring in the lowest 'circle' of the cage of the top cause I thought it would look cute, and am happy with the result :)
Overall, I love the result and the tutorial is excellent!! Fits well and is cute and comfortable. It doesn't have much support, so those of us with a bit more weight will probably notice some slouch and bounce, but I don't necessarily see that as a downside. I'll probably wear this top out dancing soon and see how it does!

tl;dr: love the pattern; thank you BJax for sharing it; I'd make a few edits for bigger folks but overall the size guide is really solid, super cute top!

*[Edit]* Update! I wore it to my dance class this morning and it was great- comfortable, breathable yet substantial, and looked super cute! Will definitely be part of my standard repertoire :D

Thank you so much! I finally made something that isn't a rectangle. Your instructions were clear and I was able to fix my mistakes when you advised us to check our work. I'll definitely make more of your tops now 😊

I can't believe that I just crocheted a piece of clothing and at that pace! Usually it takes months for me to crochet something or I even don't finish it at all, but with this I started yesterday afternoon and I just tried on the finished piece.

Before this, I was really intimidated by the idea of making crochet clothes because I only ever made plushies before and I thought tops would be too difficult, but I was able to breeze through the process with this tutorial! You explained everything very clearly, thank you!

This is by far the best tutorial I've followed for this kind of project. I made 2 today lol a small then an extra small. I'm ordering more colours of cotton yarn, and I'll be showcasing these beauties to everyone. Keep up the great work. Thank you.

Best tutorial I’ve ever followed!!! Crocheting for over 5 years. Turned out amazing and only took around 4hrs.

This is even easier then another top I’ve made from a tutorial. I’m definitely gonna make more. I will say I did try to follow the exact exact pattern u were explaining in the video. And found that 10 stitches was not enough for the fire bits. I should’ve known but thought it would be fine 😅. Anyone that has to make the cup a size D or higher. maybe even a C should probably make it 15 or 20 single crochet instead of 10. Other than tht u did an amazing job explaining every detail and a clear view of each step and stitch

Thank you so much for including the other sizes! I'm self taught and cannot read patterns well, and I was able to follow this pattern easily!

I love this tutorial, this is the first wearable I've ever made, ~but~ I had to make some alterations. I love that it's such a great guideline, and it's super easy to alter it however you want or need to.
I'm definitely a plus size girl, my bra size is 44DD.
Here's what I did, if anyone is curious:
♡ Make the XL cup size
♡ Ch14 instead of Ch10 for the armpit part
♡ Add 1 extra set of single and double crochet before the scallops (total of 4, instead of 3- it gave me more support. It could be extended even more if you want more coverage, I'm making one for a friend with 8 instead of 3.)
♡ I did only do 4 rounds of the mesh chest piece, 5 would have been too constricting for me, but that's personal preference
♡ I had to made an extension piece for the bottom corset band. The tie didn't give me the support I wanted. I did a Ch20, and just made it look exactly like the attached band. (If anyone else wants to try an extention, you can play around with the Ch#. I think anything over 10 would be strong enough to hold up as a center piece) This made me have 2 corset tie locations instead of 1, and it just feels sturdier on me, because I'm bigger around. I'm less worried about breaking it.
♡ For the corset straps, I chained 240 instead of 180, and I made 2 of them because of the extension piece.
