for those who are wondering why he added u(t) its because When the unilateral Laplace transform is applied to find the transfer function of an LTI system, it is always assumed to be causal.

u(t) is included here just for finding the laplace transform and bound the signal to only positive side of t axis. Any time domain unilateral signal from (lim 0-infinity) can be multiplied by u(t) as its value is =1 for any instant of time (0 to infinity).

Went through the comments to find out I wasn't the only one wondering about the u(t) at the end. :D Kindly put up another video regarding that, would be much helpful. Thank you!

Please continue analog Electronic It's a humble request @neso academy I utterly respect every single person of this academy for putting their heart and soul into this.... For making our lives better.
Thank you

Instead of (s+2), We can multiply by its square i.e. by (s+2)*(s+2); hence we can avoid division by zero when we substitute s=(- 2). The coefficient of B becomes zero, and that determines C at once.

1) 5/2 - 5e^-t + (5/2)e^(-2t)
2) -15/4 + (5/2)t + 5e^(-t) - (5/4)e^(-2t)
3) 5/9 - 5e^(-2t) - (10/3)te^(-3t) + (55/9)e^(-3t)

in the previous lecture you did not add the u(t) for the final answer, why did you add it here in this question's final answer !?
and thank you so much for your huge effort

This review of the Laplace Transform, particularly the properties of Laplace Transform, is immensely useful and handy. Nice job!

What is that unilateral Laplace transform you mentioned in the vedio I didn't get how you include u(t) here

The correct ans. for (iii) is
5/9 - 5e^(-2t) + 40/9e^(-3t) + 10/3te^(-3t)

at 3:25 multiply the entire equation with (s+2)^2 and substitute s = -2, boom you get C!

In the video 5:41, the inverse transform of -2/(s+2)^2 should be -2te^-2t.

Can anyone explain why u(t) is not multiplied to previous partial functions to make it >=0 as unilateral
