New 14 Year Old Glenfiddich Whisky Celebrates American Spirit
Показать описание
Scottish Distiller William Grant & Sons is celebrating the American spirit – in both senses of the word – by introducing the brand new 14 year old Glenfiddich Bourbon Barrel Reserve. 'It takes the 14 year old and it lifts it with a little bit of vanilla zing that you would expect to get in a bourbon, so you get more of a vibrant nose and taste,' said Brian Kinsman, Malt Master at William Grant & Sons. This new expression of Glenfiddich is matured for 14 years in ex-bourbon American Oak casks, enabling it to develop the complex flavors of woody spices combined with ripe summer fruit. After waiting patiently for 14 years, Kinsman finishes the whisky in deep charred new American Oak barrels supplied by The Kelvin Cooperage in Louisville, Kentucky. The result in his view is a rich, sweet and vibrant single malt. The bourbon barrel reserve, which is exclusive to the United States, pays tribute to the shared history of American and Scotch whisk(e)y, according to Kinsman. He added that the American Oak ex-bourbon barrels are the backbone of the single malt Scotch whisky industry. Aside from adding this new expression of Glenfiddich to its permanent portfolio, William Grant & Sons just released two new expressions in limited release the Rare Cask Reserves Ghosted Reserve 26 Year Old ($400) and The Annasach 25 Year Old ($299).
