From the award-winning album JOSEPH: A NASHVILLE TRIBUTE TO THE PROPHET, produced by Jason Deere and Dan Truman. The song won "Song Of the Year" at the 2006 Pearl Awards where the album also won "Album of the Year". Since the beginning of NTB , EMMA is the most listened to song of all of the 110 plus titles in our catalog. This shows that her generation loves her and her contributions to the faith we hold dear.
EMMA was written by Jason Deere.

Many left everything that they knew and understood in their homelands to cross the great blue oceans to follow the American Dream. But many, were also led by the Spirit of God to come to America to follow a prophet.

Featuring the vocal of Mindy Gledhill.
Dan Truman on piano. John Yudkin on violin, Viola and cello. Mixed by Silvio Richetto.

This project is an LDS Missionary favorite with inspirational songs about Emma and Joseph Smith and other important figures who help usher in the Restoration.

Shame on those that say she lost her faith! She was one of the most faithful women and wives this world has ever seen!

Her life was very heart-breaking

Grateful for all the mothers(Emma’s) in the world. There’s truly some amazing woman out there that don’t get enough of the love and gratitude they deserve.

I always find myself crying, when I listen to this song. Thank you Nashville. There's so much emotion in this song that makes my faith in the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ stronger.

Never had an ordinary day
Never lived your life in an ordinary way
For everything you loved you paid a price
But you couldn't let the world see you cry

Never had a moment of peace
Never felt the sunlight
When the worries set you free
Every time your life turned a page
It seemed like your heart might break

With the world on your shoulders
When the nights had grown colder
You seemed to weather every storm
With a queen's grace
When you lost your husband
When you buried your children
I'm sure the angels stood in reverence as you prayed
How much can on heart take

Never had a day to call your own
When so many needed your warm heart as a home
Whispering a mother's lullaby
As you sat alone by the fire

And i'm sure your heart breaks, when some people still say
Somewhere down the line you lost your faith
How much can one heart take
How much can one heart take

It is so difficult to hold back the tears when listening to this song. I get choked up. I hope I can be as valiente as Jesus, Joseph Smith, Emma Smith etc. and persevere until the end.

Thank you, Nashville Tribute Band for this beautiful tribute to an "Elect Lady!" Reading more about her in Come Follow Me's lesson led me to remember this song!
