That’s what happens when you sack half the workforce over a medical choice the government doesn’t like.

Aged care CREATED its workforce crisis and is now seeing that they are reaping what they had sewn.

I work an an assisted living & memory care community in America and the biggest issue we are seeing when hiring is mandatory vaccinations. If a company is going to force people to vaccinate, they will find it difficult to find staff. Otherwise, I don’t believe anyone gets into the senior living industry unless they have a desire to help people. Our residents are very appreciative of the work we do so I don’t really pay attention to whether my company appreciates me or not. My company pays me, but I work directly for my seniors.

Its not rocket science. An incredibly hard job and paid pittance, I'd love to see what a Politician would expect to be paid if asked to clean up shit all day. Not to mention the nursing homes make a nice little profit. Feel for the elderly, they don't deserve this. Obvious another sector of our society that needs an overhaul based on the good of the people not the wealth of a few.

Maybe the union should start representing its membership rather than being a stooge of the Labor Party.

Aged care in Australia is disgusting.
In Mediterranean countries the old men sit around in the town square drinking coffee. In Australia you cram them all in a building with strangers.

Simple solution and it's already happening. $250K to get into aged care. A shot of morphine to get out. And the providers will go probate.

Why would they stay in an industry that does not care about either their clients or their workers?

Aged care is a tragedy in this country, the whole frigging set up .
The regulation around it all, the cost, the people who work in it, the pathetic treatment of the aged .
They usually have two to three years on average to live once shipped to the death houses by their own .
Thinking of inheritance and a don't disrupt my life attitude by their families .
The aged feel thrown away abandoned in their time of need, powerless to change things no matter how wealthy or influential they were .

low paid labour intensive work require plenty of patience, dealing with feces, urine and vomit in hourly bases and occasionally abuse by residents or their families members...you get more money and less workload supporting NDIS clients through agency like Mable.

A self inflicted injury if there ever was one - hard to be sympathetic.

There are many senior apartments for older people who cannot take care of their homes but are still active. They are a much better and cheaper resource for those people than nursing homes and assistive living. Too many people are placed in the wrong facilities. I will be glad when covid and all its debris will be gone.

It’s time to reform Age Care industry. The home care should more get funded for the members family who choose to care their own elderly parents or their elderly members family at their home. It is important in school education system in Y11 and Y12 to get AgeCare education as compulsory because in the future, the Age Care residents might only for family who can afford to pay the service..public Age Care residential will slightly change to home care. Every one will get old in this world..we all should be able to take care our own elderly members except if the elderly people don’t have any other members family to take care of them..the government needs to support them in age care residents home.

Why don't the kids take Mum and Dad home? They nurtured you, raised you, gave you a great start yet regardless of their health status it is the children's responsibility, which has been lost in the white noise. The government should in no way bear responsibility. Why aren't the providers who rake millions and steal their pensions stepping up to the plate? When was the last time one of you lazy kids took Mum out for a day? Na! You are just waiting for the right euthanasia moment. Disgraceful.

You have to watch Soylent Green to the end to see the future of elderly care.
... Or maybe we're there, already 🤔

I, however, will NOT LEAVE voluntarily ...as a nurse in UK, with same issues,

If WE leave, who will stand up for people in care or in hospitals human rights?

They will have to dismiss me, and then ..THE GLOVES ARE OFF.

I wont leave my patients vulnerable ...EVER
And yes, i am unjabbed, it didnt matter at the hight of this "scare", But it matters now seemingly.

I havent changed and reading the plethora of research publications ...I AM the individual at risk, as the people jabbed are the ones in hospital .

I dont care, jabbed or unjabbed ...i will stay and look out for you . Xxxxx
