Climbing the Sturrall

Nikki Bradley climbs the Sturrall in County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland. Nikki was diagnosed with a rare form of bone cancer at sixteen and the receiver of a second hip replacement at the age of twenty-six. Nikki has recently undergone rotationplasty surgery in February 2022. This rare procedure removed her thigh and reattached her knee, shin and foot to where her hip used to be, her right foot is now turned 180 degrees.

The Sturrall Headland is one of the most outstanding sea cliff features in Ireland it is a true monster of a headland sitting isolated and far from the real world. It sits equidistant between Glencolmcille Village to the South and the An Port road end to the North. The ridge is approx 800m long and 180m at the highest point.
