Today, the impacts of climate change are felt more strongly around the world, including more intense floods, droughts, and wildfires. Seeing these disasters and their aftermath, it seems unimaginable to bring back what is already gone. Listen to Supriya Prasannan, Head of Legal for Ericsson Malaysia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, share our vision of a world where connectivity improves lives and pioneers a sustainable future.

Just as our Connected Mangroves project.

An initiative that uses IoT technology for reforestation, supporting the Sabak Bernam community in Selangor, Malaysia to protect the area against natural disasters and restore their livelihoods. Thanks to IoT possibilities and the engagement from locals, universities, NGOs and research institutes, the site has since come back from a barren field to a lush and thriving mangrove forest. Thanks to the collaborative efforts of many, the United Nations gave Ericsson their ‘Momentum for Change’ award in 2016 in celebration of the positive changes that have taken place for the Sabak Bernam community and their revitalized Mangroves.
