Used to live in West Elizabeth just across the river

People left because they don't wanna die... We used to sit on my porch and count the gunshots in Clairton... Between that and the God awful smell from the mills every morning...
Yeah, no one in their right mind wants to live there.

This is happening all around Pittsburgh.

And people call me crazy when I say my area has a growing cancer ...

Lincoln Way…. Many people will never see Pittsburgh in person and how many neighborhoods are like this all around the city. The hills, valleys and rivers make the entire region difficult to navigate and to understand how everything is built on a hill, it’s crazy! People all had good jobs and worked hard until the factories closed. Clariton is a very unfortunate neighborhood with very high crime and abandonment. I have family that lived in McKeesport and Penn Hills. I used to drive through Aliquippa, Braddock, Monaca, Dravosburg, Ambridge, Swissvale, East Pittsburgh and so many more towns in utter fascination of all the decay and abandonment.

Brother. The land was bought by the government to expand toll route 43. They bought the houses and demolished them right away because they have a plan to connect Morgantown, WV to Monroeville, PA. This isn’t anything to worry about.

Imaging living with my neighbors in that neighborhood in 2007 and coming back to the abandoned trail in 2023 the memories would be really haunting.
