For the latest Ford Maverick pricing and information:

The 2022 Ford Maverick is an all-new compact pickup truck. It has a number of traits that make it uniquely compelling.

Number one, a hybrid powertrain comes standard. It’s a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine, an electric motor, a continuously variable transmission, and front-wheel drive, united together to return 191 horsepower (191hp, 155 lb-ft) and a Ford-stated 40 mpg in the city.

Number two, Ford wisely also offers a 2.0L EcoBoost, non-hybrid engine matched to an 8-speed automatic. It makes 250 horsepower (250hp, 277 lb-ft), is offered in front or all-wheel drive, and can tow up to 4,000 pounds when equipped with the 4K Tow Package. That’s up from the Hybrid’s 2,000-pound towing max.

And three, unlike the rest of Ford’s truck lineup, the Maverick features a unibody structure, as visually suggested by the lack of a gap between the cab and the bed. Speaking of the bed, by adding wood 2x4s or 2x6s buyers can create segmented storage or elevate the floor to different heights and even create bike and kayak racks.

There’s a 12-volt electrical outlet for power, whatever you’d like to plug-in from power tools to hair dryers. If you can think it up, it’s likely you can create the perfect configuration back here for whatever you do.

Inside, the cab roomy, functional, and stylish, accented with pops of color and cool granite-like trim. Also noteworthy inside is a standard 8-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity and an under-seat storage area that can store an inflated volleyball.

Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the Maverick is its price. Not including destination charges, a base Maverick XL trim starts at $19,995. Included among the Maverick’s standard equipment roster are LED headlights, 5 drive modes, and automatic emergency braking.

If you’ve got the budget, you can outfit your Maverick with full-speed adaptive cruise control, evasive steering assist, and an FX4 off-road package featuring all-terrain tires, underbody protection, and a retuned suspension.

The 2022 Ford Maverick goes on sale in the fall of 2021, but it is available to reserve right now for buyers seeking first access to the rejuvenated compact pickup truck segment.

I can’t wait for dealers to charge $5000 on top of MSRP for carpets!!!
Why can’t we just order from Ford website and have the car delivered? WHY do I have to deal with the WHY!!!!

I like it more than I thought! Wish hybrid was AWD and was hoping for a similar “bed trunk”like the ridgeline.

0:48 the reason why most people won't go for the base model when it goes on sale. Don't know why that's the case, but hybrids use eCVTs, not regular CVTs, and Toyota has shown that they can be very reliable. 40MPG from a hybrid pickup that costs less than $20, 000 is a bargain, really. And it produces adequate power if you're not towing.

I thought I’d see Micah and when I saw Lyn…. We’ll, I was surprised, but then super surprised that you guys teamed up for a video on a new product. You guys both rock. This truck isn’t for me, but this truck is going to be a home run. The perfect truck for suburbanites.

Lynn et Micah make the best team! They have a way to keep their reviews upbeat, informative and short, which is no small feat. Keep it up :)

Wow the base hybrid version seems really compelling to me. As a tradie I just wish it had a longer bed. I suppose I can put a roof rack for longer items like ladders and 10’ material. I honestly couldn’t care less that the Hybrid is FWD that’s what studded Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10s are for. I was so close to buying a used Prius or Hyundai Ioniq I might just buy this instead.

5:13 the price made me audibly gasp. 😲 A new vehicle bargain is unheard of in today's market. Nice job Ford.

What Ford not do 60/40 for the back seat. What happened if I have baby seat on it

This review feels more like an ad. Heaps of praise and exclaimation points where unnecessary.

I used to own a 1972 Ford Maverick with a 302 bored-out and blueprinted engine. Could take anything off the line. Had a jacked-up ass end and a blue starsky & hutch paint job. Wonder if I could do the same custom job to one of these??

Will it really come out in the fall or they going to have to sideline it due to a lack of chips?
