Teen struck by truck, killed on way to school in the Bronx

Police say a teenage girl was struck by a truck and killed as she walked to school in the Bronx on Wednesday.

The first rule I learned was to make sure a driver stops before crossing, if possible make eye contact. Don’t take it for granted. I hope she wasn’t on her phone or listening to music which could have distracted her. Poor young girl. Life cut down too short.

Believe it or not I knew this girl, her brother was my best friend once. It's insane really, we hear about instances like these everyday, but when it's about someone you knew, it just feels unreal. Rest in peace, Alisa💔

A lot of Driver Ignore the traffic laws of Pedestrians. once a person is on the path to cross a road drivers must Yield to right of way.

These NYC drivers need to relax. Waiting 20 seconds at a light isn't going to hurt you. I'll be crossing the street still having 10 seconds left to walk and here these cars go slowly moving up to and past the crosswalk. I walk even slower when they do that. I don't get it. I hope her family heals somehow from this..
