A Child’s Introduction to Art & Usborne's The Children Book of Art Flip-though & Review | Homeschool

As part of our homeschooling, I use a few simple books to teach my kids about fine arts. These two books, Usborne The Children Book of Art AND A Child’s Introduction to Art, are two of my favorites. In this video, I share a page-by-page flip-though of each of them. Both these books have beautiful illustrations and teach children about different works of art throughout history (the books are both laid out in chronological order). Even if you do not homeschool, books like these are great to have in your home for your children.

I love books that introduce kids to fine arts. My small kids could recognize some of the famous works of art because we exposed them to it. I used a program called "It's a Renoir, " which had postcards to match of different well-known works of art. These look like great books, too!

I really loved this simple way to teach classical and modern art but the classic music you played in the background was the perfect setting to introduce this art curriculum. Classical music has proven to create patterning in the brain of babies and children and has raised IQ. Having classical music played in the background has also proved to create better writers. Their brain develops cadence which pours out of the young writer in the form of better sentence structure and thought patterns in writing stories and poems.
