Giving Clawdeen Micro Braids! Monster High Doll Custom Reroot Tutorial Ft. Skulltimate Secrets S4

I love rerooting my dolls with nicer hair, and today I am trying something new out! I wanted to give my Skulltimate Secrets Monster Mysteries Clawdeen a head full of micro braids!

Clawdeen’s default hair is polypropylene which is why I want to reroot her in the first place, but she has a couple micro braids in her center part and I wanted to expand on that and give her a head full of them.

You can purchase micro braids online to use for custom reroots, and I purchased mine from the doll planet in the color light blue and size 1.5mm.

I couldn’t find micro braids in the shades of purple that I needed so I decided I would just dye the light blue micro braids using rit dye!

When it came time to reroot the micro braids it was a new process for me so I had a slight learning curve but I eventually figured out a routine and was rerooting at light speed.

The end results of this project blew me away and I think Clawdeen looks superb with a head full of micro braids!

Rerooting with micro braids does require some skill and finesse but I think it can be beginner friendly if you are interested in doing this yourself!

I love dye doll hair but just a tip you should ger the rit dye colorstay dye fixative to make stay longer a also prevent the dye from transferring to other things ❤

Hello! I have been rerooting MH dolls for while and I have some tips! When rerooting braids, I am using normal needle. I just stretch the braid through the hole and then I stick the whole needle to doll head and pull the needle out. It leaves the braid in it, then I glue the end and after it dries out, I pull the braid onto the back of the skull. Or there is a method that I prefer and I am using it more - I am using yarn. I am buying yarn braids and I am just knoting them. This method is pretty cheap, and yarn is so soft to touch! (I hope that you can understand the method. English is not my first language)

i like her microbraids, she just have too much silver ones for my personal taste. I would have taken more purple then silver. The thing is silver as haircolor reminds me too much on seniors, thats why i don't really like silver hair on Characters which äre supposed to be young. 😅 Another thing is that i prefer this clawdeen dolls original haircolor too much. If I would reroot one of the three Monster High Dolls I have it would be Abby.
