This whole fight really leaned towards the video game aspect: The Ant King had 2 Phases, complete with transformation, Jinwoo grinded levels so hard, he overpowered this boss, and he even got a mid-battle level up (his mutilation skill) that gave him even more of an advantage. To top it off, Beru gets a special cutscene that you'd get when you receive a SSR or high quality unit/minion/hero/gacha game. He also got to name Beru, and true to video game nerdery, he named Beru after something literature related to ants

Fun Fact: The Darkness is caused by the Ant's king being too powerful as his summoning caused immense pressure to fill the surroundings.That is due to Beru’s Strong Willpower & Resistance. Rumors is that the system was bending its own rules to allow Beru’s extraction, something it had never done before but also to symbolize Jinwoo’s growing dominion over shadows.

1:00 I kinda understand why Jin-woo felt shocked for a sec there, for Beru being his first and powerul soldier to speak before the others, it makes quite sense why he looked like that.
But the thing that made Jin-woo do that expression, is Beru's voice, like, it was the sound of a dead soul calling his King, and I confess, Beru's voice is really cool and creepy😅
