Cheap Coolers- Under $100 Best Budget Cooler For Ice Retention

preview_player

The performance set forth by the budget coolers (almost all under $100) was truly amazing. One cooler even advertised 9 days of ice retention which seemed extremely far fetched. Come to find out, several coolers were able to live up to their advertised ice retention times. Several of the coolers below also outlasted roto molded coolers of a comparable size. For the money, these are some of the best coolers you can buy.

Below are the coolers ranked in order. For full review and time: (coming soon)

Coolers Reviewed:

I like your commitment and advice. It's not cheap buying 20 coolers, the time to review them, and editing the video. Great job.

Rumor has it those coolers are filled to capacity and have two beverages

Holy Cow man! The most exacting and extensive cooler review ever. Good to see the scientific method is still alive somewhere in this world. Thank you for the tremendous effort! Though one caveat has to be remembered. The coolers that lasted the longest, started with almost twice as much as ice as the smaller ones. And when it comes down to it, as a single guy, 28 quarts is enough.

Thank you for this video! I got the Lifetime 77Q and went camping, food and beverages plus 50lbs of ice cubes, and it still had a little ice left 10 full days later!! In the midwest, temps in the 80s in day, 50s at night. Amazing! Under $200 after tax, kicks the expensive coolers butts. <3 <3

I really really appreciate all the work you guys put into this video. I don’t have much to spend on coolers. So reviews like this really help out a lot. Keep up the great work guys.

I have a small Engle cooler I've used in my truck for work all over the US. Multiple beach trips. Left in a hot car still keeping ice. Rode on a hot semi truck floor. Did well.

I got a IGLOO BMX 25 off of Amazon for Christmas to myself, do have to say, small cooler but since I just do small road trips, I normally carry lot of water, some sodas and snacks. Lasted about 4.5 days. Worked great for only $50, who needs a $300 YETI like seriously lol Glad I found this video

Nice review. I have the large lifetime (70quart?) that went 9 days in your test (was just under $100 at Walmart) I am very happy with it and consider it a solid buy. Made in USA (Utah I think)

Should've had a Yeti for comparison to see if it's actually worth the crazy high prices

Best one I've ever owned...including my galvanized Colman, circa 1949...Coleman 28 qt white top over blue bottom has a handle...tag says keeps ice 3 days...in Florida it will keep 4 pint size reusable ice packs frozen for 2 full days !!! 21 bucks at Wally World...not in every store...I got mine 5 years ago...also it is air-tight, takes effort to open the lid. ...Stay cool y'all.

I own the 52qt Igloo BMX. If you want some real world numbers I just got back camping, with just 2 5lbs bags of ice filled up with food and drinks it lasted two days. It was mostly water with some small ice left.

We use our Igloo Quantum 55 every week all year. + we have a giant size & a picnic size Igloo for special trips. The closest grocery store to our house is a 30 min drive. The closest good grocery store is almost an hour drive.

I’m impressed how well these coolers did compared to the roto molded coolers! The only thing going for rotomolded coolers is the fact they’re durable and can take a beating

I NEVER like videos, but your commitment, time and money spent, is well worth the time to like!

I did a challenge with a buddy using ice straight out of a freezer. My Lifetime 28 held for 8 days roughly and his Yeti Roadie for 5. It was pretty eye opening.

You guys do awesome work. Hands down the best head to head competition out there.

Glad to see the lifetime cooler I bought was in your video. It too surpassed my expectations, I'm painting it white to reflect heat and increase ice retention by half a day hoping to push 8 days with it

Love your thoroughness. This helped me make my last cooler purchase. Thank you so much !

We own that Lifetime cooler as well as an Ozark Trail 52 and love them both. Way better price than the big name YETI and RTIC coolers and perform just as good.

This video definitely changed my mind. I really like the look of the xtreme Coleman’s but that grey igloo at the end is the new target cooler.
