My review of Gali from the BIONICLE 2008 Mistika line of Lego sets.

Sonething about the lighting makes her design so satisfying to me

Given Gali's hunchbacked appearence and Onua's more slender appearence, it would probably be better if their bodyplans were switched. Also her mask has nothing on Hahli Inika's in terms of masculinity. Hahli has a beard!

I still stand by my crack theory that between the hunched back and scanner eye, this was supposed to be Helryx, but LEGO changed their mind somewhere along the way.

Gali Nuva was my first lego set ever as a kid, and just this year I dropped by my resale shop and picked Mistika Gali up for $20. I'm proud to say my collection consists of Gali figures and two rahaga.

I love the Toa Mistika and I didn't mind Gali Mistika but at the same time Lego could've done a way better the Gali design

I would have outgrown my Bionicle phase by 2008 but damn the Mistika were cool sets

Funny you mention the thing about the mask, as in initial prototypes Gali and Tahu were switched. (Ironically, after they were switched, there was a second Gali prototype where they tried giving her a skirt-like armor piece, but scrapped that too.)

My only real complaint with her is the lack of any chest armour. Like damn girl, get a shirt on!

The Piraka torso specifically should’ve only been used for villains and creatures.

I never had any of the Mistika sets back in 2008

Btw the designers in all likelyhood did not know these where even going to be existing characters, because all of the story material is decided after the sets are designed

At the end of both bionicle generations, the entirety of gen 2 really, it just felt like Lego wanted bionicle to fail. With mistika not getting their own matorans to sync with and the split of phantoka and mistika instead of having them release at the same time. And then with Gen 2 they only made half as many villains as they did good guys. I can’t help but feel like they wanted these years to fail.

Never really seen her mask as particularly masculine. Not particularly feminine, but decently neutral

Why do the instructions tell you to connect her head in such an odd way how is she suppose to look up while flying?

My opinion on the toa mistika is I like it but that's not tahu, gali and onua
