I remember staying up late at night to finish the campaign. Then this shit pops out of the blue. Then I’m immediately thrown into a survival situation on a map that came to be “Nacth der untoten”.

I remember the day when I first got this game. I was visiting my father for the Thanksgiving holiday of 2008, the last time I would see my grandmother alive before her death a month later. The night I arrived, my dad and I went to the city's local Hastings and got two copies of CoD: WaW (plus a copy of "The Force Unleashed"). The moment we got back home, we cooked up some pizzas, filled up our drinks with Dr. Pepper, and then we sat down to play for almost four hours straight. The next day, I played ahead on my own and finished late at night, just exhausted from putting so many hours into it. But then, this scene happens and my excitement went right through the fucking roof. It was probably 5 am before I went to bed, excited to be able to play the new mod with my father the next day.

This intro cutscene alone is more scarier than horror movies nowadays.

Creepy setting, creepy sounds, zombies in the distance, you have no fucking clue what's going on before suddenly it tells you this is a zombie apocalypse

Imagine being knocked out in a corner of a room for a unknown reason. You wake up in a Extremely Dark room with no light. You find a random flashlight on the floor and use it to see only to get the attention of a Zombie and coming straight at you with those Demonic zombie sounds
