I was a young immigrant boy in rural Quebec in the 1970s. My father loved this station and I learned to love it too. This voice is a time machine. Where did these decades go ?

I was studying in Mtl during the late sixties/early seventies, several times I called CFQR station to find out who was playing. I often talked with Jimmy Tapp who would give me the information I needed and also tell me some history of the group/orchestra I was interested in. He was a kind man, very peaceful and helpful looking (identifying) melodies I would play on a tape recorder over the phone. Those were the days of the "Beautiful Music" format at CFQR. Thank you for the memories, Ciao, L

I remember the big snowstorm of 71 and being stuck in studio for 3 days before getting any relief lol but I will say my paycheck was the best ever going from straight time to triple time .I must say I loved working at CFQR-FM ( Dave Vimbor) and working with Jimmy Tapp and Ned Conlon, Keith Randall and many more Great times
